Karen Louise Tweed, age 48, resident of Binford , ND passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the Nelson County Health System - Hospital in McVille , ND . Karen was born December 11, 1959 in Cooperstown , ND the daughter of Orville and Louise (Lura) Tweed . She grew up and was educated in Binford , ND graduating from Binford High School in 1978. In 1982 Karen graduated with a teaching degree from Mayville State College. She then attended Lake Region Community College in Devils Lake to become a certified LPN. Karen worked at the Aneta Parkview Healthcare Center from 1986 until 2006. Karen spent much of her time on the family farm near Binford. She enjoyed working with the cattle, especially during calving time. She liked to watch baseball and loved spending time with the nieces and nephews.

Karen will be missed and remembered by her two brothers, Kevin (Betty) Tweed of rural Binford, ND and Kraig (Tammy) Tweed of Jefferson, IA; 3 nieces, Emmy, Erin & Laura; 2 nephews, Brian & John; along with aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 28, 2007 at 1:00 PM in the Bethany Free Lutheran Church of Binford, ND.   Officiating will be the Reverend Lynn Kinneberg.  Organist will be Magnhild Adrian and soloist will be Paul Adrian, Jr.  Visitation will be Thursday, December 27, 2007 from 3 PM to 7 PM with a 7 PM prayer service in the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Binford Cemetery . Arrangements with the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel.
