Inga M. Peterson, age 97, resident of Binford, ND, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the Cooperstown Medical Center – Nursing Home in Cooperstown, ND. Inga was born May 13, 1911 in Kindred, ND, the daughter of Peter S. and Lena (Larson) Johnson. She grew up and attended school in Kindred before moving with her family to Binford in 1927. Inga graduated from Binford High School in 1929. She worked at the Binford Locker before she married Alvin O. Peterson on September 7, 1937 in Boulder, MT. After their marriage the couple made their home in Boulder for a few years before returning to Binford. Inga worked at the locker plant, restaurant and post office as well as raising her family. In 1962 they moved to Fargo, ND, where Inga started working at the bakery in Hornbacher's. They moved back to Binford in 1976 where she has lived since. Alvin passed away in 1982. Inga enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and spending time with family.

Inga will be missed and remembered by her daughters, Donna “Bunnie” (Darrel) LaPlant of Binford, ND, and Diane Nelson of Fargo, ND; 7 grandchildren, Tammy (Jeff) Risk, Sherri (Rory) Teigen, Tod (Teri) LaPlant, Shane (Julie) LaPlant, Matthew Nelson, Bethany Chapman and Greg Peterson; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and sister-in-law Anna Peterson.

Inga was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Robert, granddaughter Christy, great grandson Justin, 2 brothers; Carl Johnson and Philip Johnson, along with 4 sisters; Minnie Dahlin, Clara Kuehn, Stella Amundson and Delores Standal.

Funeral services for Inga will be Friday, October 10, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Binford, ND. Visitation will be Thursday, October 9, 2008 from 4 PM to 7 PM with a 7 PM prayer service in the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services in the church.  Officiating will be Reverend Cheri Danielson.  Organist will be Theresa Fiebiger.  Interment will be in the Binford Cemetery.
