Evelyn O. “Gypsy” Andersen, age 98, resident of Fargo , ND , formerly Bismarck , ND passed away June 27, 2008 at the Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo , ND.

Evelyn was born on May 8, 1910 to Helmer & Laura (Ostvolden) Iverson in Brooten , MN . She grew up on a farm in McLean County , ND and in 1927 graduated from Makoti High School , Makoti , ND.

She moved to Bismarck in the fall of 1928 where she attended Capitol Commercial College and worked in the office of Montgomery Ward. In April 1930, she went to work as Office Manager and Accountant for Fleck Motor Sales in Bismarck , ND . She worked there until she retired in 1975.

She married Roy H. “Andy” Andersen on August 20, 1946 in an airplane over the North Dakota and Montana border. He died July 26, 1994 in Bismarck at the age of 97.

She continued to live in Bismarck until December of 2005, when she became a resident at the Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo , ND.

She is survived by one brother, Wallace (Herdis) Iverson of Binford, ND; 2 sisters, Vera Kvale of Fargo , ND and Mildred Flaig of Fargo , ND ; one niece and seven nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helmer & Laura Iverson, formerly Cooperstown , ND , her husband Andy, one brother, Howard Iverson, and one sister Gladys Iverson and 2 nephews.

Funeral services for Evelyn will be Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel, Cooperstown , ND . Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the chapel on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 . Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens , Bismarck , ND on Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at 4 PM .
