Eugene K. Edlund, age 80, resident of Binford, ND passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at the MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Gene was born February 1, 1927 in Marion, ND the son of Kenneth and Alice (Ecklund) Edlund. He moved with his family at a young age to Binford, ND where he attended school. Gene served in the United States Navy for two years and then attended the Aaker's Business College in Fargo, ND. Gene married Viola Stage on September 10, 1948. After their marriage they spent 5 years in Finley, ND where Gene was the Standard Oil Bulk agent. Gene was co-owner of Edlund Motors in Binford and sold for both Case and New Holland. He was the Standard Oil Bulk agent in Binford for over 30 years. He enjoyed working on antique cars, dancing and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Gene will be deeply missed and remembered by his wife Vi of Binford, ND. Daughters; Becky Richter of McVille, ND and Mary (Brad) Manock of Horace, ND. Sons; Keith (Janet) of McHenry, ND, Don of Aberdeen, WA and Jim of Binford, ND. 10 grandchildren; Katie, Emily, Molly, Jessica, Robert, Nancy, James, Becky, Derrick and Allie. 2 great grandchildren; Kylee and Kaleb. 1 brother Lyle (Lorraine) of Binford, ND.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, sister Joyce Larson and grandson Jameson.

Funeral services for Gene will be Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Binford, ND. Visitation will be Friday, October 19, 2007 from 3PM to 7:30PM with a prayer service at 7:30PM in the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to services.   Officiating will be Reverend Wayne Gallipo.  Special music by Natalie Becker.  Organist will be Theresa Fiebiger.  Casketbearers will be Gene's grandchildren. Interment will be in the Binford Cemetery . Military honors by the Jonas A. Helland Legion Post #111 of Binford, ND.
