Dennis Fossum, age 77, resident of Cooperstown, ND passed away Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Cooperstown Medical Center – Nursing Home.

Dennis was born September 22, 1933 on a farm in Albert Township, Benson County, ND the son of Anton and Ragna (Nilsen) Fossum. He graduated from Maddock High School in 1951. On August 31, 1958 he married Helene Hagen. Dennis worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad (in Flora, Wing, and Esmond ND) until 1969 at which time the family moved to Cooperstown where he owned and operated a TV-radio sales and repair business until 1982.  He and his wife operated D&H Realty until retirement in 2006.

Dennis will be missed and remembered by his wife Helene of Cooperstown; sons Jeff (Diana) of Ashburn, VA and Bob (Deb) of Forest River, ND; grandchildren Lucas (Joann), Nikeysha, Cara, Annie, Jake, Cole & Benjamin; one great granddaughter Sharon Ann and sister Doris Fortney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Milton & Norman, sister Sal and daughter Sharon.

Funeral services for Dennis will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the Trinity Lutheran Church of Cooperstown.  Officiating will be Reverend Michael Jacobson.  Special music will be provided by Kathy Soma-Gawronski.  Visitation will be Tuesday, September 13, 2011 from 4 PM to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM in the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Cooperstown Cemetery.
