Agnes Lucile Jensen,
age 86, resident of Mayville , ND formerly Cooperstown , ND
passed away Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the Luther Memorial
Home in Mayville. Agnes was born February 21, 1921 in Sverdrup
Township near Cooperstown to Bernard and Selina (Loge) Stokka.
She grew up and was educated in Cooperstown , graduating from
the Cooperstown High School . She attended St. Paul Bible
Institute and worked in Minneapolis at the Sears Catalog Company.
She married Virgil Jensen on February 14, 1948 . After their
marriage they made their home in rural Cooperstown on the
Jensen family farm. Agnes baked for the café in Cooperstown
and worked at the hospital. She was very active in the church
and garden club. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting
and especially spending time with her family. Virgil died
on May 29, 1975 . Agnes continued to make her home on the
farm until moving into Cooperstown . She later moved to Fargo
, then Grand Forks , and in January of 2003 she entered the
Alzheimer's unit in the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville.
Even then Agnes graced those around her with her positive
disposition and beautiful smile.
Agnes
will be deeply missed and remembered by her four daughters,
Virginia Jensen of Portland, OR, Marilyn (Joel) Erickson of
Oslo, MN, Joan (Kevin) Heppner of Munich, ND and Wanda (Mark)
Sheppard of Fullerton, ND; two sons, Dennis (Edna) Jensen
of Moorhead, MN and Merlyn Jensen of Cooperstown, ND; one
brother Gordon (Joyce) Stokka of Brandon, SD; one sister Helen
(Richard) Hess of Eden Prairie, MN; son-in-law Richard (Stephanie)
Holm of Gillette, WY; sisters-in-law Bernice Turnquist and
Doris Walen both of Cooperstown, ND; 17 grandchildren; several
great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Agnes
is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Jerry
and two daughters, Aurel Holm and Audrey Jensen, one sister
Doris Erickson, two brothers Stanley Stokka and Clifford Stokka.
Funeral
services will be Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 10:30 AM in
the Saron Evangelical Free Church, rural Cooperstown , ND
. Visitation will be Monday, December 3, 2007 from 4PM to
7PM with a 7PM family service in the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel.
Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to services.
Interment will be in the Cooperstown Cemetery , Cooperstown
, ND . Arrangements with the Cooperstown Funeral Chapel.
