Orville Kermit
“O.K.” Anderson, age 95, resident of Lakota, ND, died
Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Devils Lake Good Samaritan
Center in Devils Lake , ND .
O.K.
was born December 20, 1913 , the son of Olaf and Mary
Kate (Stotts) Anderson, on his parents farm in Mountrail
County , near Ross , ND . He was raised on the farm,
attended the local school, and was graduated from Stanley
High School in 1932. He farmed near Ross and also accepted
a position at the Scandia American Bank in Stanley ,
ND . O.K. married Ida B. Hermanson on February 28, 1936
at Palermo , ND . They lived in Stanley until they moved
to Lakota in 1946 and purchased the State Bank of Lakota.
O.K. was a Master Mason & a member of the Kem Temple
Shrine of Grand Forks . He was an active member of the
Lakota Lutheran Church and had also served on the Church
Council, City Council, and Lakota School Board, as well
as being past president of the North Dakota Bankers
Association. O.K. loved to go on fishing trips with
his friends and he & Ida loved traveling and cruise
vacations. They moved to Stuart , FL in 1993, and in
2000 they moved to Dallas , TX . In May of 2002 they
moved back to Lakota, in order to be closer to their
family. Ida died February 19, 2004 and O.K. lost the
love of his life after almost 68 years of marriage.

will be greatly missed by his 5 children, Kathlyn Kolberg
of Lakota, Aron (Mary) Anderson of Lakota, Sandra Martz
of Lakota, Sherryl Duncan of Garden Valley, ID, and
Pamela Ivy of Lakota; 17 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by his wife, Ida; an infant son;
and 6 sisters.
O.K.'s
Funeral Service will be held at Lakota Lutheran Church
on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will
be the Reverend Dale Peterson. The organist will be
Karen Fowler and the soloist will be Jason Flom. Interment
will be in the Lakota Cemetery . Casketbearers will
be O.K.'s grandsons, David Kolberg, Jeff Anderson, Bruce
Anderson, Mark Anderson, Stuart Duncan, Paul Duncan,
Eric Martz, and Aron Martz. Honorary bearers will be
O.K.'s granddaughters, Cynthia (Kolberg) Ritteman, Lisa
(Kolberg) Curtis, Sarah (Kolberg) Donofrio, Kristin
(Martz) Vie, Kathlyn (Martz) Olson, Kadra Martz, Melisa
( Duncan ) Whipple, Erin Nicole ( Anderson ) Danovsky,
and Kaitlin (Ivy) Lambert. Visitation will be held at
the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota on Wednesday, May 6,
2009 beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at
7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on
Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In
lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given
to a local charity or service organization of your choice.
