Olive Ivesdal,
age 89, of Edmore, ND, went to be with her Lord and
Savior on Friday, January 6th, 2012 at the Edmore Memorial
Rest Home.
Olive
Ivesdal (Youde) was born to Albert and Jane Youde of
Manchester, England on April 30 th , 1922 . She attended
an all-Girls School and when WWII broke out she was
called by her country to work at a factory for the war
effort. It was during this time she met her husband
to be who was stationed in England. She was united in
marriage to Reuben Ivesdal on September 20th, 1947 at
Devils Lake, ND. They farmed and raised their family
near Edmore, ND until they retired in 1988, when they
moved to Edmore.
Olive
was active with the Ladies Aid at Derrick Lutheran Church
and later at Living Word Free Lutheran Church in Edmore.
She was a pianist and played for the Derrick Lutheran
Church and for meetings at the Edmore Rest Home for
many years. She loved to knit, crochet, play Scrabble,
and paint. Her faith was the most important part of
her life which she shared with others. After her husband
passed away, her daughter, Elaine and grandson, Brandon,
moved to Edmore to assist in her care in 1994.
She
is survived by her children, Mark (Linda) Ivesdal of
Bismarck, ND, Sterling (Sue) Ivesdal of La Porte, TX,
Philip (Tammy) Ivesdal of Jamestown, ND, Penny Ward
of Bismarck, ND, Pamela (Robert) Hiltner of Erskine,
MN, Diane (Dale) Burling of Wishek, ND, and Elaine Ivesdal
of Edmore, ND; 21 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reuben;
her sisters Winnie and Ivy; her daughter, Darlene; two
grandsons, Randy Ivesdal and Matthew Burling; and one
great grandson, Ashden Ivesdal.
The
Funeral Service will be held at Living Word Free Lutheran
Church of Edmore on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 2:00
p.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Craig Wentzel.
The organist will be Pamela Landsem and the soloists
will be Gabie Damschen and Lois Myrvik. Interment will
be in the spring at the Edmore Cemetery. The casketbearers
will be Terry Ivesdal, Ryan Ivesdal, Ben Burling, Brandon
Ivesdal, Matt Reed, Jason Martis, and Tim Donaldson.
Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of
Lakota on Monday, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer
Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the
church on Tuesday, beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the
time of service.
