Nettie M. Offerdahl, age 78, resident of Park River, ND, formerly of Dahlen, ND, died Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the Park River Good Samaritan Center.

Nettie M. Rude was born August 18, 1929 at Dahlen, ND, the daughter of Nels and Alma (Randklev) Rude. She was raised and educated at Dahlen. Nettie married Lester G. Offerdahl on November 26, 1950 at Petersburg, ND. They lived in Dahlen where Nettie worked for a time in the Dahlen Mercantile Store. They were custodians of the Dahlen Lutheran Church for many years. Lester died July 14, 2004. Nettie continued living in Dahlen until May 2005 when she moved to Minto, ND. In September of 2007 she moved to Park River. She became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center on April 1 st of this year. Nettie was a member of the Dahlen Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, and the Sunday School program for many years.

Nettie will be greatly missed by her 4 children, Phyllis (Mark) Teiken of Mahnomen, MN, Lyle Offerdahl of Lankin, ND, Annette (Gale) Glomstad of Minto, ND, and Tami Jo (Ryan) Altendorf of Minto, ND; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; 3 honorary grandchildren; her sister, Carrie Hauge of Park River, ND; many nieces & nephews; and her special friend, Janice Pich of Park River.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester; 3 sisters, Alpha Morrison, Agnes Leen, and Gladys Rude; 2 brothers, Even and Norman; and several nieces & nephews.

Nettie's Funeral Service will be held at the Dahlen Lutheran Church on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Gary Knabe. The organist will be Sylvia Madson and the soloist will be Mary Ralston. Interment will be in the Zion Cemetery near Dahlen. Casketbearers will be Andy Cherney, Terry Cherney, Ryan Teiken, Josh Ralston, Dennis Zima, and Jeremy Sobolik. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
