Muriel
R. Paré, age 85, resident of Devils Lake, ND,
formerly of Tolna, ND, died Friday, February 11, 2011
at her home in Devils Lake.
Muriel
Rose Otto was born June 14, 1925 in Nelson County, near
Tolna, the daughter of George and Mary Esther (Ward)
Otto. She attended grade school in Tolna and also graduated
from the Tolna High School in 1943. She then attended
Mayville State College for a year and was employed by
the Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Tolna. Muriel
married Howard L. Paré on September 9, 1946 at
St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tolna. She was a member
of the St. Joseph Altar Society, the 27-52'ers Homemakers
Club, and was also a 4-H Leader for many years.
Muriel
will be deeply missed by her husband, Howard of Devils
Lake; three children, Colleen (Les) Hanson of Tolna,
Linda (Rick) Aukerman of Corpus Christi, TX, and Michael
(fiancée Connie Gladue and her children Kayci
& Callie) Paré of Tolna; her grandchildren,
Cindy (Joe) Welu of Eden Prairie, MN, Lisa (Mick) Thompson
of Ada, MN, Tracy (Chris) Pellicer of Jacksonville,
FL, Scott (Megan) Hanson of Savage, MN, Tim (Kim) Hanson
of Huntsville, AL, Chris (Deb) Paré of Davenport,
ND, Allen Paré of Tolna, ND, and Joni (Justin)
Smith of Platte City, MO; her great-grandchildren, Rhett,
Farrah & Zyler Niece, Preslee Welu, Connor, Jace,
Lauren & Jenna Thompson, Zoe, Greta & Nolan
Hanson, Victoria & Jackie Paré, Elizabeth
Smith, and expecting in June: Violet Pellicer; her step
grandchildren, Saul & Josie Guerrero and Hannah
Pellicer; her step great-grandchildren, Saul and Rami;
three sisters, Mary LaVon Lysne of San Antonio, TX,
Elaine (Eugene) Weiss of Champlin, MN, and Verana Rohman
of West Fargo, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The
Funeral Mass for Muriel will be held at St. Joseph Catholic
Church, Tolna, ND, on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at
11:00 a.m. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. John Aerts.
The organist will be Linda Luehring with special music
by Muriel's granddaughters. Interment will be in the
spring at the Tolna Cemetery. The casketbearers will
be Scott Hanson, Tim Hanson, Chris Paré, Allen
Paré, Mick Thompson, Joe Welu, Justin Smith,
and Chris Pellicer. Visitation will be held at the Aaker
Funeral Home, Lakota, ND, on Wednesday, February 16,
2011 beginning at 4:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at
7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the Church on
Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
