Mark D. Young,
age 50, resident of Michigan, ND, passed away Sunday,
March 13, 2011 due to cancer at Altru Hospital in Grand
Forks, ND.
Mark
Douglas Young was born July 5, 1960 at McVille, ND,
the son of Robert L. and Clara M. (Olson) Young. He
was baptized and confirmed at the Good Shepherd Episcopal
Church in Lakota, ND. Mark lived on the family farm
until 1964 when the family moved into Michigan. He graduated
from Michigan High School in 1978. Mark spent his entire
life in Michigan. He began working at Lamb Brothers
Lumber, John Deere, Forde Construction, and Reiten Farms.
Later in life he worked construction with Prairie Builders,
and more recently he worked construction on his own.
Mark enjoyed his friends and family, and was a true
Bob Dylan fan and thoroughly loved his music.
Mark
is survived by his sister-in-law, Marlene Young of Devils
Lake, ND; a sister, Ellen (Mark) Larson of Northwood,
ND; four brothers, David (Penny) Young of Santa Maria,
CA, Richard (Sharon) Young of Michigan, ND, Michael
Young of Omaha, NE, and Philip Young of Michigan, ND;
his nieces & nephews, Ryan Young, Alicia Sinclair,
Nathaniel (Ann) Larson, Sarah (Graham) Rios, Heather
(Adam) Haroldson, Daniel Young, Amanda Young, Bob Young,
Amy Young, and Charlie Young; as well as his aunts,
uncles, and cousins.
He
was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents,
Evan & Olga Olson and William & Ella Young;
and two brothers, Raymond and William.
The
Memorial Service for Mark will be held at the Michigan
Lutheran Church, Michigan, ND, on Friday, March 18,
2011 at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be the Reverend
Sue Mackey. Interment will be in the spring at the Michigan
Cemetery. Honorary casketbearers will include all of
Mark's friends. Visitation will be held at the church
on Thursday, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service
at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church
on Friday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
