Hodek, age 63, resident of Devils Lake , ND , formerly
of rural Lankin , ND , died Wednesday, April 29, 2009
at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks , ND .
Marilyn
Elaine Heuchert was born October 20, 1945 at Grafton
, ND , the daughter of George and Gladys (Baker) Heuchert.
She was raised at Hensel , ND , attended school at Crystal
, ND , and graduated from Cavalier High School . Marilyn
married Charles Hodek Jr. on October 24, 1970 at Cavalier.
They lived and farmed all of their lives together near
Lankin. They moved to Devils Lake in 2004. They were
former Queen and King of the Polka Lovers Club. Marilyn
liked to collect dishes and quilts, attending quilt
shows, baking cookies, playing with her grandchildren,
and bringing meals to the field during harvest. She
enjoyed traveling with Charles and attending the dances
at which her son Matthew played.
Marilyn
will be greatly missed by her husband, Charles Hodek
Jr. of Devils Lake; 3 sons and 3 grandchildren, Mark
(Kori) Hodek of Fairdale, ND, & their children,
Timothy & Sara, Matthew Hodek of Lankin, Michael
(Shawna) Hodek of Fordville, ND, & their son Connor;
her mother, Gladys Heuchert of Hensel; 2 sisters, Anna
Mae (Lyle) Mineke of Walhalla, ND, and Carol (Roland)
Mayhair of Grand Forks; and 2 brothers, Donald (Julie)
Heuchert and Neil Heuchert, both of Hensel.
She
was preceded in death by her father, George Heuchert.
Marilyn's
Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church
of Devils Lake , on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.
Officiating will be the Reverend Timothy Stout. The
organist will be Elonda Nord. Interment will be in the
Michigan Cemetery, Michigan, ND. Casketbearers will
be David Rygh, Nick Heuchert, Josh Heuchert, Kevin Mayhair,
Steven Mayhair, and Darrin Mineke. Visitation will be
held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota on Friday,
May 1, 2009 beginning at 2:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service
at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church
on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
