Margaret
"Muggy" McErlane, age 87, resident of Lakota, ND, passed
away peacefully on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at
the Lakota Good Samaritan Center with her husband
of 57 years at her side.
Margaret
Josephine Kowalski was born January 23, 1921 at home
in Park River, ND, the daughter of Joe and Elizabeth
(Kandler) Kowalski. During World War II she
assembled Air Force bomb sights at the Chevrolet Plant
in Flint, MI. After the war she returned to
Park River and became a legal secretary. Muggy
married Charles J. McErlane on June 27, 1950 in
Larimore, ND. They made their home in Lakota
for 54 years. Muggy moved to the Good Samaritan
Center on August 20, 1999.
Margaret
will be greatly missed by her husband, Charles McErlane
of Lakota, ND; her son, John and his wife Michele
McErlane of Iowa City, IA, and their two sons, Patrick
and Michael.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John
Kowalski; and a sister, Vera Ruggles.
The
Funeral Mass for Margaret will be held at St. Mary
Catholic Church of Lakota, ND, on Saturday, March
8, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Celebrating the Mass will be
the Very Rev. Fr. Scott Sautner. Music will
be provided by the St. Mary Church Choir, Barbara
Johnson will be the organist. Interment will
be in the Spring at the Lakota Cemetery. Visitation
will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota,
on Friday, March 7, 2008 beginning at 3:00 p.m. until
7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the Church on
Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are
preferred to Lakota Good Samaritan Center or St. Mary
Catholic Church.
