Marcella J. Paverud

Marcella J. Paverud, age 81, resident of Lakota, ND, died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Marcella Jennett Paverud was born April 22, 1927 at Southam, ND, the daughter of Floyd and Marie (Tessman) Fisk. She was raised in the Southam, Bartlett, and Lakota areas, attending country school near Southam and high school in Lakota. She married Tillworth "Tip" Paverud on February 27, 1945. Marcella worked in the service industry all of her life. She worked at several places in Lakota before moving to Minneapolis, MN in 1966. She lived and worked there until moving to Crookston, MN in 1976. She returned to Lakota in 1986. Her family was very important to her. Her kind and loving spirit will always be remembered by her family and friends.

Marcy is survived by 7 children, Patricia Paverud of Pipestone, MN, Cynthia Paverud Peterson of Grand Forks, ND, Terrill "Terry" Paverud of Rapid City, SD, John Paverud of Minneapolis, MN, Corey Paverud of Crookston, MN, Darcell "Darcy" Paverud of Grand Forks, ND, and Robert Paverud of Chicago, IL; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a brother, Leonard Fisk of Lakota, ND; and a sister, Colleen Belyea of Larimore, ND.

She was preceded in death by her son, Donavan Paverud; her parents, Floyd and Marie Fisk; and her brother, Willard Fisk.

Marcy was a very generous, kind, and loving person.

The Memorial Service for Marcy will be held at the Lakota Lutheran Church of Lakota, ND, on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the spring at the Lakota Cemetery.

Memorial contributions will be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
