Lorraine Legacie,
age 85, resident of Edmore, ND, passed away Monday,
April 19, 2010 at the Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon,
ND, where she has been a resident since October 2008.
Lorraine
Estelle Mygland was born November 3, 1924 in Hamlin
Township of Nelson County, the daughter of Ole and Alma
( Lund ) Mygland. She attended school in Lakota. The
family moved to San Luis Obispo , California during
World War II. Lorraine worked as a welder in an aircraft
assembly plant. Lorraine married James H. Legacie Jr.
on November 3, 1948 in Lakota. Lorraine was a cook at
the Edmore Memorial Rest Home and at the Edmore School
. Jim and Lorraine later moved to Taylor, ND, where
Jim was working for a road construction company. Lorraine
worked for Stark County Social Services in the Taylor
and Richardton area. They moved back to Edmore on January
1, 2000.
Lorraine
is survived by her husband, James Legacie of Edmore;
5 daughters, Carmen (Roger) Nygaard of Edmore, Carole
Helle of Edmore, Brenda Green of Bloomfield, New Mexico,
Cheryl (Dan) Paukert of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Becky
(Wayne) Hanson of Springfield, Missouri; 12 grandchildren;
18 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Ray Bibow
of Minot, ND; a sister-in-law, Lillian Mygland of Waukegan,
IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, David,
Orris, and Raymond; a sister, Edna Bibow; and a son-in-law,
Tom Green.
Lorraine
's Funeral Service will be held at the Lawton Lutheran
Church, Lawton, ND, on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 11:00
a.m. Interment will be in the Lakota Cemetery. Visitation
will be held at the church on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m.
until the time of service.
