Lorraine (Aamodt) Christopherson, age 57, resident of Fargo, ND, formerly of Lakota, ND, died Monday, August 16, 2010 at Innovis Health in Fargo.

Lorraine Aamodt was born February 9, 1953 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Edwin and Dolores (Korstad) Aamodt. Her father died when she was an infant. As a young girl, Lorraine moved with her family to Bartlett, ND , then to Lakota, ND in the middle 1960's. She was confirmed at the Lakota Lutheran Church and graduated from Lakota High School with the class of 1971. Lorraine worked at the Sunlac Inn and the Lakota Hotel. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Lakota. She was a very private person, but loved to visit with those close to her. Her daughter, Yvette, was born August 1, 1976. They moved to Grand Forks in 1978. While in Grand Forks , Lorraine attended Aaker's Business College and received a degree in accounting. She then worked at the Myra Museum . They moved to Fargo in the early 1990's. Lorraine loved and cared very much about her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, baking, and was a fantastic seamstress.

Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Yvette Aamodt of Fargo; 2 brothers, Roger Aamodt of Lakota and Brian (Anna) Swanson of Yakima, WA; 1 sister, Tammie Trettel of Arvilla; 4 nephews, Tony Trettel, Justin Aamodt, Jason Aamodt, and Robbie Swanson; 1 niece, Racheal Swanson; and her sister-in-law, Diane Aamodt of Lakota.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Aamodt; her mother, Dolores Swanson; her stepfather, Gaylord Swanson; her grandparents; and a nephew, Kyle Trettel.

The Memorial Service for Lorraine will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Reuben Schnaidt. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in the Lakota Cemetery.
