Linda Mae Deseth was born August 12, 1948 at Devils Lake, ND, the daughter of Jens and Elma (Danielson) Deseth. She graduated from Edmore High School in 1966. She then attended Joseph's School of Hair Design in Grand Forks, ND. Linda worked in Grafton for one year and then started her own beauty shop on October 22, 1969 in Edmore. Linda married Arthur Verke on July 18, 1981 in Edmore. Linda worked in her beauty shop until she was forced to retire due to her health. She loved reading, crafts and was very artistic with knitting and crocheting.

Linda will be dearly missed by her husband, Arthur Verke of Edmore; 5 sisters, Jeaneen (Ralph) Anderson of Edmore, Corinne Sanderson of El Sobrante, CA, Shirley (Dale) Dahl of Houston, TX, Sharon (Tom) Weiser of Hazelton, ND, and Valerie (Jerry) Leingang of Edmore; 1 brother, Tommy (Carole) Deseth of Morris, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Caren Deseth and Emilie Demester; and 4 brothers, Leland Deseth, Harland Deseth, Donald Deseth, and Robert Deseth.

Linda's Funeral Service will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church of Edmore, ND, on Friday, February 27, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Don Reynolds. The organist will be John Martinson and special music will be provided by the High Plains Trio. Interment will be in the spring at the Soper Cemetery, rural Fairdale, ND. Casketbearers will be Ryan Weiser, David Demester, Terry Demester, Brett Leingang, Jonell Weiser, Heather Weiser, and Tara Bartholomay. Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota, ND, on Thursday, February 26, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
