Joyce K. Christianson, age 75, resident of Lakota, ND, died Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Lakota Good Samaritan Center in Lakota, ND.

Joyce Katherin Hoyt was born a twin on July 15, 1932 in Carrington, ND. She was the daughter of Kenneth and Gina (Tufts) Hoyt. She attended school in McHenry, ND. She then worked in Grand Forks, ND for a short time. Joyce was united in marriage to William "Bill" Christianson in 1954. They resided in Lakewood, ND until they moved to Lakota in 1968, where she took a job at the Gronna Good Samaritan Center for 21 years. She became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center on May 20, 2004. She loved music and dancing. She was the best mother anyone could have asked for and she will be greatly missed.

Joyce is survived by her 3 sons, Gay Christianson and his wife LaNette of Austin, MN, Paul Christianson and his wife Dorothy of Lisbon, ND, and Wade Christianson and his wife Marlene of Devils Lake, ND; a daughter, Cindy Wooldridge of Bismarck, ND; grandchildren, Christopher, Jeremy, Mellisa and Derek Christianson, Heather and Joshua Christianson, Paul Jr. and Amanda Christianson, Julie and Justin Christianson; great grandchildren, Jesse Christianson and Sara Wooldridge Christianson; 1 brother; and 5 sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Christianson Jr.; and daughter, Lynn J. Christianson.

Joyce's Funeral Service will be held at the Lakota Lutheran Church of Lakota, ND, on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Joel Westby. The organist will be Diane Beirwagen. Interment will be in the spring at Bethlehem Cemetery, rural McHenry, ND. Casketbearers will be Steve Fisk, Brad Hooey, Paul Christianson Jr., and Joshua Christianson. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
