Jeffrey Dean
Anderson, 46, of Michigan, ND, passed away Tuesday,
June 21, 2011 at Altru Hospital surrounded by his loving
family after a 3 year battle with breast cancer.
Jeffrey
was born February 16, 1965 in Grand Forks, ND, the son
of Lonnie and Renee (Tufte) Anderson. He moved with
his parents to Michigan, ND when he was three months
old. He attended Michigan Public School, graduating
in 1983. He then attended AVTI Tech School in East Grand
Forks. He returned to Michigan where he ran the Standard
Station for one year. He moved to Colorado where he
worked the ski lifts and was a member of the Forest
Rangers for two years. He came back to ND and worked
at the Lignite Plant at Washburn for two years. He also
worked at the Ed Olson Hereford Ranch and the John Williams
Farm at Arthur, ND. In 1996 he returned to Michigan
. He worked for the Cargill Elevator Company at Lakota
until 2008 when he purchased what is now the Wagon Wheel
Bar and Grill in Michigan.
Jeff's
boys were the love of his life. He enjoyed taking them
fishing and hunting or just driving around the country
side. He enjoyed meeting up with his sister LeAnn's
family for camping and tubing at Icelandic Park or attending
UND sports with his brother Greg. One of his favorite
things to do was to work in the fields out at the Steffan
farms.
He
volunteered for the Michigan Ambulance Service for 15
plus years and was with the Michigan-Whitman Fire Department
for 23 years and served as Fire Chief for the last 10
years. He was President of the Local Emergency Planning
Committee from 2003 to the present. He was a member
of the Michigan Lutheran Church, the Michigan Area Community
Club, Dakota Prairie School Board, and a part-time deputy
for the Nelson County Sheriff's Department.
Jeff
will be greatly missed by his two sons, Jordan age 16
and Dalton age 14; his parents, Renee and Lonnie Anderson;
a brother, Greg Anderson & his wife Nicole Kuchera
and her daughter Olivia Kuchera of Grand Forks; a sister,
LeAnn & her husband Scott Holmquist and their children
Amanda, Marly, Ty, and Tage of Cavalier, ND; his grandmother,
Kathleen Tufte of Cooperstown, ND; and many aunts, uncles,
and cousins.
He
was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfred and
Elaine Anderson, and Stanley Tufte.
The
family would like to thank the wonderful nurses, staff
and Dr. Panico at the Cancer Center, and all those great
nurses on 6th floor at Altru for their great care and
friendship. Jeff thought the world of all of you.
The
Memorial Service will be held at the Michigan Lutheran
Church on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation
will be held at the church on Friday, beginning at 5:00
p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.
