James D. Reineke,
age 79, resident of Michigan, ND, died Saturday, January
16, 2010 at the Lakota Good Samaritan Center in Lakota,
ND.
James
Donald Reineke was born October 30, 1930 on his parents'
farm near Michigan , the son of John Sr. and Emma (Holtz)
Reineke. He attended school in Michigan then began farming
with his parents until the middle 1960's. Jim married
Alice J. Severson on October 25, 1958 in Michigan .
He worked for Farmers Union Oil Co. for 9 years there.
In 1976 Jim began working as the custodian and bus driver
for the Michigan & Dakota Prairie schools. Alice
died June 7, 1999 . Jim retired in 2005 but continued
driving the bus. He is a past member of the Michigan
Fire Department and Michigan Ambulance Service. He enjoyed
working with his Ford tractor; with it he plowed snow
and tilled gardens for residents of Michigan . He moved
to the Good Samaritan Center on May 22, 2009 .
Jim
will be sorely missed by his 5 children, Nick (Tracy)
Reineke of Thompson, Terri (Mark) Ferry of Thompson,
Dan Reineke of Michigan, David Reineke of Michigan,
and Mary (Mike) Sundberg of Thompson; 12 grandchildren;
5 sisters, Tracy Miller & Jo Hankel, both of Minneapolis,
MN, Mary Anderson & Marge Berdahl, both of the Lakota
Good Samaritan Center, and Patty (Don) Buzzell of St.
Cloud, MN; and many nieces & nephews.
He
was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice;
2 brothers, John Jr. & William Sr.; 2 sisters, Agnes
Ryba & Helen Floren; an infant brother & an
infant sister.
The
Funeral Mass for Jim will be held at St. Lawrence O'Toole
Catholic Church of Michigan on Thursday, January 21,
2010 at 11:00 a.m. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. John
Aerts. Music will be provided by the St. Lawrence Church
Choir and Dolly Devlin will be the organist. Interment
will be in the spring at the Michigan Cemetery . The
casketbearers will be Jim's grandchildren: Evan Ferry,
Katie Ferry, Adam Ferry, Nicholas Reineke, Brittany
Reineke, Garret Reineke, Darren Reineke, Madison Sundberg,
Nathan Sundberg, Ashley Giles, Kaitlyn Giles, and Karen
Anna Berg. Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral
Home of Lakota on Wednesday, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation
will continue at the Church on Thursday, from 10:00
a.m. until the time of Mass.
