Jacqueline Jo Ann (Hanson) Luehring, age 76, resident of Tolna, ND passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Nelson County Health System – Hospital in McVille, ND.

Jackie was born June 22, 1934 in Blanchard, ND the daughter of Clarence and Josie (Tangen) Hanson. At 9 months she moved to her grandmother's farm near Pekin, ND with her mother and sister following her father's death. She attended 1 year of rural school, and finished her education at Pekin School, graduating in 1952. She worked in the Pekin and Tolna telephone offices as an operator, and also at Stump Lake Park during summers in her high school years. Her life was her family, friends, and her church, where she sang in the choir for many years, and served on the church council and WELCA. She was active in both the Pekin and Tolna ladies auxiliary units. Her great pride was her children and grandchildren, and she rarely missed any of their activities. A loyal fan of all sports, she supported all ages from kindergarten to amateur baseball which her family supported and took part in for years.

Jackie will be missed and remembered by her husband Edgar Fred Luehring of Tolna; her children, Terry (Marla) Luehring of Devils Lake, ND, Michael (Renae) Luehring of Tolna, Kathy (Tim) Johnson of Hazen, ND, Jeffrey (Linda) Luehring of Tolna, Brian (Stacy) Luehring of Tolna and Tami (Mike) Stein of McVille; 18 grandchildren, Amanda, Jennifer, Austin, Breun (Doug), Kalyn (Stacy), Karsi, Nicole (Ross), Kelly (John), Rachel, Justin, Jennifer (Bryant), Joshua, Brent, Tyler, Clay, Carleigh, Courtney and Cade; 5 great grandchildren, Gage, Rylee, Bailey, Mya and Sawyer; 1 sister Connie (Kenneth) Flaagan of Fargo, ND along with nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Jackie will be Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the American Lutheran Church, Tolna, ND. Visitation will be Monday, January 10, 2011 from 5 PM to 7PM with a 7PM prayer service in the American Lutheran Church, Tolna, ND. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services in the church on Tuesday.   Officiating will be Pastor Russ Christiansen.   Organist will be Betty Bina with special music by Stacy & Kelly Lund.  Interment will be in the spring at the Tolna Cemetery, Tolna, ND.
