Herman Majksner, age 86, resident of Lakota, ND, formerly of rural Brocket, ND, died Monday, October 17, 2011 at his home in Lakota.

Herman J. Majksner was born December 7, 1924 near Brocket, ND, the son of Joseph and Eleanor (Horysh) Majksner. He was raised on the family farm and attended school in Pelto, ND. He farmed in the area all of his life with his brother Norman. Herman loved to hunt, fish, and driving in the country. He was a past member of the Elks Club and the Eagles Club. In recent years he was living at Prairie Rose in Lakota.

Herman is survived by an uncle, George & his wife Ruth Maixner of Fargo, ND, and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Norma Majksner; and his brother, Norman Majksner.

Herman's Funeral Service will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota, ND, on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. Officiating will be the Very Rev. Fr. Dale Kinzler. Visitation will begin on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. and will continue until the time of service. Interment will be at St. Catherine Catholic Cemetery, Lomice, rural Lawton, ND. Casketbearers will be Wayne Maixner, Ron Maixner, Dale Maixner, David Maixner, Dennis Maixner, and Kevin Matejcek. Memorials are suggested to the Lakota Ambulance Service.
