Harriet
Darlene Anderson was born on September
25, 1944
to Harry and Sylvia (Idland) Anderson in Lawton,
ND.
She grew up on a farm and attended school in Edmore.
She married Roger Dick in 1964. They had three children;
Michele, Kenny, and Carla. They later divorced. Harriet
and her family lived in various areas including; Edmore,
Roseau,
Thief River
Falls,
Warroad, Grand
Forks,
Langdon, and Fargo.
She worked at Polaris Industries, Arctic Cat, and several
different nursing homes throughout the years as a Nurse
Aid. She had a knack for working with the elderly and
disabled. Prior to retiring, her most recent job was
working as a home health aide in Fargo
. Harriet
married Thomas Selleys August
31, 1990 .
They spent most of their married years in Edmore and
most recently Fargo. Harriet took pride in cooking,
baking, and decorating her home. She loved to entertain
her family and was very good at it. She enjoyed crossword
puzzles, playing cards, scrabble, reading, photography,
and visiting with friends and family. She especially
enjoyed being a Grandma and always looked forward to
spending time with her grandchildren.
She
is survived by her husband Thomas Selleys, Fargo, ND,
daughter Carla Torgerson, Thief River Falls, MN, daughter-in-law,
Brenda Dick (Eback) Devils Lake, ND, grandson Jordan
Torgerson, granddaughter Mariah Torgerson, grandson
Kaleb Torgerson all of Thief River Falls, grandsons
Tony Eback and Tyler Eback both of Grand Forks, ND,
granddaughters Sheila Dick and Shelby Dick both of Devils
Lake, ND, brother Norman Anderson, McIntosh, MN, sister
Carol (Thomas) Wright, Fargo, ND, sister Marlys Anderson,
Carlsbad, CA, sister Bernice (Ralph) Mackey, Edmore,
ND, sister Sharon (Wesley) Thompson, Coweta, KS, sister
Shirley (Kermit) Stein, Wishek, ND, and several nieces
and nephews.
Harriet
was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Dick, daughter
Michele Krom, grandson Jalec Krom, sister Delores (Charles)
Sigvaldson, father Harry Anderson, and mother Sylvia
Anderson.
Harriet
Selleys was killed on July
15, 2010
in an automobile along with her sister Dolly (Truman)
Braaten. She will be sadly missed by many. May her memory
live on.
A
Memorial Service for Harriet will be held at the Aaker
Funeral Home of Lakota, ND, on Tuesday,
July 20, 2010
at 2:00
p.m. Officiating
will be the Reverend Don Reynolds. The organist will
be Pamela Landsem. Interment will be in the Edmore
Cemetery,
Edmore,
ND.
The honorary bearers will be Harriet's grandsons, Jordan
& Kaleb Torgerson, and Tony & Tyler Eback.
