Gladys Lorraine Rude was born October 17, 1934 at Dahlen, ND, the daughter of Nels and Alma (Randklev) Rude. She was raised and educated in Dahlen, and was baptized and confirmed in the Dahlen Lutheran Church. Gladys lived her whole life in Dahlen. In 1996 she moved to St. Anne's Guest Home in Grand Forks, ND. In 1997 she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Park River, ND, where she lived until her death.

Gladys is survived by her 2 sisters, Carrie Hauge and Nettie Offerdahl, both of Park River, ND; a special friend, Clarine Lian of Grand Forks, ND; and by a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Alpha Morrison and Agnes Leen; and 2 brothers, Even and Norman.

The Funeral Service for Gladys will be held at the Dahlen Lutheran Church, Dahlen, ND, on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Joel Westby. The organist will be Marlys Hoverson and the soloist will be Mary Ralston. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Dahlen. Casketbearers will be Dan Urness, Allen Rude, Jamie Rude, Terry Ellingson, David Carda, Dale Lian, and Jerome Rude. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
