Frances A.
Bina, age 96, resident of Lakota, ND, formerly of Michigan,
ND, died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at the Lakota Good Samaritan
Center.
Frances
Albina Polak was born February 27, 1915 in Sauter Township
of Walsh County, ND, the daughter of Frank and Frances
(Bohatec) Polak. Her father died when Frances was a
young girl. She was raised in Sauter Township by her
mother and step-father, John Petrla. She attended the
Sauter Township School and Brocket High School, graduating
in 1932. Frances married Charles L. Bina on June 5,
1934 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Bechyne.
They farmed and raised their family in Perth Township.
While there Frances was a member of St. Catherine Catholic
Church, Lomice, and the Altar Society. They moved into
Michigan , ND in 1977 and became a member of St. Lawrence
O'Toole Catholic Church. They enjoyed traveling and
made a trip the Czechoslovakia. Charles died on September
8, 1992 . Frances continued living in Michigan until
she moved to the Lakota Good Samaritan Center in July
of 2008. She was a charter member of the Busy Fingers
Homemakers Club in 1949. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting,
and sewing.
Frances
will be deeply missed by her 5 children, Jean (Daniel)
Shirek of Michigan, ND, Joyce Helling of St. Cloud,
MN, Gwen (Bill) Maffey of Kenora, Ontario, Canada, Frances
Schneider of Eau Claire, WI, and Chuck Bina of Lankin,
ND; 17 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 4 great
great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father;
her son, Duane Bina; a grandchild; and 5 sisters, Emma
Polak, Alice Polak, Mary Ryba, Minnie Pic, and Annie
Pic.
The
Funeral Mass for Frances will be held at St. Lawrence
O'Toole Catholic Church, Michigan, ND, on Wednesday,
June 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. The Celebrant will be Rev.
Fr. John Aerts. Music will be provided by the St. Lawrence
Church Choir with special music by Brooke Bina, soloist,
and Jason Flom, accompanist. Interment will be in the
Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Bechyne, rural
Lankin, ND. The casketbearers will be Kenneth Shirek,
Paul Shirek, Ron Helling, Lucas Bina, Patrick Schneider,
Kraig Schneider, Jesse Schneider, and Bill Maffey. The
honorary casketbearers will be all of Frances' granddaughters.
Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home, Lakota,
ND, on Tuesday beginning at 4:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service
at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the Church
on Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
