Enid
M. Solberg, age 85, resident of Lakota, ND, died Friday,
October 12, 2007 at the Lakota Good Samaritan Center in
Lakota, ND.
Enid
Marie Bjorge was born June 30, 1922 in Lakota, the daughter
of Edwin and Evelyn (Anderson) Bjorge. She was raised and
educated in Lakota, graduating Lakota High School in 1940
as the class Salutatorian. Enid married James O. Solberg
on November 9, 1947 in Lakota. They raised their family
and lived all of their life in Lakota. Enid retired in the
middle 1980's from her position in Lakota as a Postal Clerk
with over 30 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service.
James died April 9, 1981. Enid continued living in Lakota
where she loved gardening, sewing, crocheting, and cats.
She was a member of the Homemakers Club, various card clubs,
the Lakota Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid, and the American
Legion Auxiliary. She became a resident of the Lakota Good
Samaritan Center in February 2007.
Enid
will be greatly missed by her 6 children, Roger Solberg
of Edina, MN, Alan (Kathy) Solberg of New Ulm, MN, Janice
(Jerry) Orvik of Fargo, ND, Diane (Wayne) Johnson of Lakota,
ND, Patty (Tom) Wheeler of Augusta, MT, and Paul (Sheri)
Solberg of Devils Lake, ND; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren;
several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren;
and also many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Beulah
Peterson; brother, Willis Bjorge; grandson, Timothy Jon
Solberg; and step-great-grandson, Drake Rainey.
Enid's Funeral Service will be held at
the Lakota Lutheran Church of Lakota on Monday, October 15,
2007 at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Joel Westby.
The organist will be Karen Fowler and the soloist will be
Garth Rydland. Interment will be in the Lakota Cemetery. Casketbearers
will be Enid's grandchildren. Honorary Bearers will be the
Ladies Auxiliary of the Rundell-Holicky American Legion Post
#21 of Lakota. Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral
Home of Lakota on Sunday, October 14, 2007 beginning at 1:00
p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue
at the church on Monday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of
service.
