Donald W.
Bina, age 81, resident of Lakota, ND, died Tuesday,
June 23, 2009 at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake, ND.
Donald
William Bina was born February 27, 1928 on his parents
farm near Lawton, ND, the son of Frank P. and Marian
(Paukert) Bina. He was raised on the farm and attended
the Sauter Township School . Don worked at Miller's
Lumber in Brocket, ND for many years. He enlisted in
the U.S. Army on December 3, 1950 and was honorably
discharged as a Private First Class on December 4, 1952.
Don married Jean Tiistola on November 7, 1956 at Brocket.
They lived in Brocket for many years before moving to
Grand Forks. They moved to Murdo, SD in 1961, where
Don was an electrical lineman for West Central Electric.
In 1970 they moved to Wishek, ND and Don worked in Linton
for Kem Electric. They retired in 1987 and moved to
Rapid City, SD. They returned to Brocket in 1993. Jean
died August 18, 1996. Throughout his life, Don was a
member of the American Legion and VFW, he was also a
member of the ZCBJ Lodge for over 50 years. He loved
jigsaw puzzles and word searches.
Don's
family includes his brother, Archie (Ruth) Bina; 2 nieces,
Kay (James) Wilebski and Carol Bina; and a great nephew,
Kyle Wilebski, all of Grafton, ND; and his special friends,
Shirley Ferguson, Pat Schuh, and Marian Swingdoff.
He
was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jean.
The
Memorial Service for Don will be held at the Aaker Funeral
Home of Lakota on Friday, June 26, 2009 at 2:30 p.m.
Interment will be private at the North Dakota State
Veterans Cemetery in Mandan. Visitation will begin at
1:30 p.m. until the time of service.
