On
Tuesday, June 24, 2008 Cliff Johnson passed away at
the Cherrelyn Healthcare Center in Littleton, Colorado
at the age of 83 years.
Cliff was born on May
22, 1925 to Oscar and Olga (Pihlgren) Johnson in Enterprise
Township . He grew up and attended school in Brocket.
The first car he ever owned was a 1927 Model T.
He also drove a taxi cab in Chicago before he was married.
In 1945 he married Alma Brodal and was married to her
for over 47 years until her death in 1992. After
their son's death in 1957 they moved to Lakota and later
built their own home at 306 E.D. Avenue . Cliff
worked road construction for most of his life operating
a roller for the Northern Improvement and Sletten Company
and later Alma and Cliff owned Johnson's Cafe. He was
a member of the Eagles' Club for many years and a member
of the Lakota Lutheran Church .
Cliff was predeceased by his son Darrell, his
wife Alma, his sister Caroline Olsen of Seattle, his
brother Roger Nelson of Florence , Oregon and his nephew
Steven Olsen of Seattle .
He is survived by his four children, Carol Ann (Don)
Watson, Denver, Colorado; Donald (Connie) Johnson, Park
Rapids, Minnesota; Karen (Sid) Stine, Winnipeg, Manitoba
and Corliss Johnson of Conrad, Montana. He is
also survived by his 11 grandchildren, Darren Watson
( Michelle), Jason Johnson , Cari Ann Watson, Donald
Clifford Johnson, Michael Johnson (Stephanie), Allison
Hockett (Dylan), Mark Stine, Jennifer Stine, Deanna
Wakkinen (Greg), Matthew Johnson, and Daniel Stine.
He also has 10 great grandchildren. Surviving also are
his sister, Pauline Kelly of Swisshome , Oregon and
a sister-in-law Ann Bro of Eagon , Minnesota .
Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 2 from 3 p.m.
to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Aaker
Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at the Lakota
Lutheran Church on Thursday July 3 at 2 p.m. with Pastor
Joel Westby officiating. Casketbearers will be his grandsons.
Interment will be in the family plot in the Lakota Cemetery
