B. Skjerseth, age 84, resident of Lakota, ND, died Tuesday,
March 6, 2007 at the Napoleon Care Center in Napoleon, ND.
Barbara Fuchs was born September 29, 1922 in Bach, Germany,
the daughter of Martin and Christina (Dasbach) Fuchs. She
immigrated with her family to America in 1929. They settled
in Mapes, ND. She married Thor Skjerseth on January 3, 1942
in Lakota. They farmed and raised their 8 children in the
Rubin Township area.
passion was to share her God given ability to sing with
her Church and community. Clara sang for countless Masses,
weddings, anniversaries, and funerals for over 50 years.
She especially enjoyed singing with the choir at St. Mary
in Lakota. Her beautiful voice and message will be missed
Clara loved her children, grandchildren,
and great grandchildren. She took pride in their accomplishments,
but more so she wished peace and happiness to her family.
Clara was a woman of faith and a strong believer in prayer.
She had made a pilgrimage to Medjugorje. She wore out many
a rosary praying for her family. Her special smile and sense
of humor will be missed by us all.
Clara will be deeply missed by her husband,
Thor of Lakota; her children, Tim of Minot, ND, Terry (Pam)
of Fargo, Clarice (Ally) Dorrance of Springfield, MO, Mary
Kay (Roy) Hall of Greeley, CO, Gordon (Beth) of Mandan, ND,
Steve of Fargo, Brian (Linda) of Fargo, and Celeste (Norm)
Kleppe of Napoleon; 19 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren;
and many nieces, nephews, and other family.
was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, William
Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of St. Mary, Lakota,
ND, on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Concelebrating
the Mass will be Fr. James Ermer and Fr. Scott Sautner.
Music will be provided by the St. Mary Church Choir. Interment
will be in the Spring of 2007 at the Lakota Cemetery. Casketbearers
will be Troy Skjerseth, Paul Skjerseth, Ben Kleppe, Aaron
Skjerseth, Josh Kleppe, Shane Hall, Brent Skjerseth, Dustin
Kleppe & Nathan Kleppe. Honorary bearers will be Noah
Dorrance, Eric Skjerseth, Katie Kleppe, Makeesha Fisher,
Kayla Skjerseth, Jordan Hall, Tara Skjerseth, Shannon Skjerseth,
Kate Dorrance & Stephanie Rynestad. Visitation will
be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota, on Friday,
March 9, 2007 beginning at 4:00 p.m., with a Rosary and
Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the
Church on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
