Charles “Chuck” Edwin White Jr., age 62, resident of Cleveland, OH, was born into life April 23, 1947 in Grand Forks, ND, and entered into rest September 9, 2009 in Cleveland. Charles was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Michigan, ND, his Godparents were his grandpa and grandma Sommerfeld. He moved to Cleveland in 1953. A tornado devastated their home in Cleveland, so Chuck lived with his grandma White in Tennessee from June to December of 1953. He then lived at the Schulz farm near Michigan from December until August of 1954, when he was able to return to Cleveland. He attended Lutheran Memorial Elementary School and Lutheran West High School. Chuck had worked for Phoenix Die, Coca Cola, and Gilford Diagnostics. Chuck suffered a heart attack in 1994 and a stroke in December 2008. He recovered to speak (telling jokes) and to drive. The summer of 2008 he discovered he had cancer and began treatments in the fall of 2008.

He is the devoted son of Ruth Sommerfeld, Cleveland, OH, and the late Charles Sr.; loving brother of Terry (Lu Ann), Cleveland, OH, Bob (Rose), Brunswick, OH, Ray (Bonnie), Phoenix, AZ, Esther (Andy) Knight, Plainville, IL, Theresa (Ken) Davis, Cleveland, OH, Helen (Duane) Arcado, Quincy, IL, and Betty (Dale) Lemmeyer, Cleveland, OH; he is also survived by 6 nieces and nephews, Kelly, Jimmy, Brittany, Danielle, Shannon, and Brian.

He was preceded in death by his father; a niece, Jennifer; and a nephew, Tony.

The Memorial Service for Chuck will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Niagara, ND , on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend Denny Neels will officiate. Interment will be in the Michigan Cemetery .
