Andy Fossum,
age 76, resident of Clutier, IA, formerly of Lawton,
ND, died Monday, November 29, 2010 at his rural residence
following an extended illness.
Andrew
Nels Fossum, known to family and friends as "Andy" was
born September 19, 1934 at Lawton, ND to Nels A. and
Rose (Trhlin) Fossum. Andy served his nation in
the US Army and was a member of the American Legion. He
married Mary Lou Pesek on August 15, 1963 at Devils
Lake, ND. Andy operated road construction equipment
prior to his retirement. Five years ago, Andy
and brother, Mike, traveled to Tama County and they
built their retirement home near Clutier.
He is survived by his children, Bret (Beth) Fossum of
Moscow, Russia and Houston, TX, Greg (Amy) Fossum of
Cottage Grove, MN, and Heidi Fossum of Fargo, ND; four
grandchildren, Ross, Travis, Lucas, and Jena; his brothers,
Mike Fossum of Clutier, IA, Johnnie (Janice) Fossum
of Rolette, ND, and Dick (Linda) Fossum of Helena, MT;
and his sister, Doris (Larry) Charon of Cooperstown,
ND; his sister-in-law, Diane Fossum of Grand Forks,
ND; and several loving nieces and nephews.
He
was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Edna;
and his brother, Nels.
Funeral
Services will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota,
ND, on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. Officiating
will be the Reverend Don Reynolds. Visitation will begin
at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial
will be in the Spring of 2011 at the Sobak Cemetery
near Edmore, ND.
