Adelaide C. Gunderson, age 86, resident of Michigan, ND, died Sunday, May 2, 2010 at her home.

Adelaide Christine (Johnson) Gunderson was born August 23, 1923 near Petersburg, ND, the daughter of Oscar and Anna Gu Tilda (Lalander) Johnson. In her younger years, Adelaide worked as a housekeeper for various neighbors. Adelaide married Orville Gunderson on November 15, 1947 in Minneapolis, MN . After their marriage they farmed in the Michigan area until Orville's death in 1998. Adelaide lived on the family farm north of Michigan until her death. She enjoyed traveling, visiting friends and neighbors, reading novels, and spending time with her cats.

Adelaide is survived by her 5 children, Larry (Phyllis) of Grafton, ND, Nancy (Larry) Hulstrand of Lakota, ND, Roxanne Mitchell of Grafton, ND, Randy (Sharon) of Michigan, ND, and Roger (Terri) of Devils Lake, ND; eleven grandchildren, Kristine (Jeff) Hayes of Los Alamos, NM, Travis (Leigh) Weaver of White Rock, NM, Angela (Michael) Howland of Wilmar, MN, Natalie (Cory) Anderson of Grafton, ND, Laura Gunderson of Grand Forks, ND, Cory Gunderson of Michigan, ND, Stephanie Gunderson of Mayville, ND, Elizabeth Gunderson of Devils Lake, ND, Kelsey, Alexa, and Jordan Mitchell all of Grafton, ND; two great grandchildren, Leeson and Miles Weaver of White Rock, NM; one son-in-law, Sidney Weaver of White Rock, NM; one sister-in-law, Grace Johnson of Belfield, ND.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Dianne Weaver in 1982; twin sister, Adeline Berdahl; brothers, Allen and Leonard Johnson.

Adeline's Funeral Service will be held at the Michigan Lutheran Church, Michigan, ND, on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be the Reverend Sue Mackey. The organist will be Paula Narum and special music will be provided by Lonnie Gestson. Interment will be in the Michigan Cemetery. The casketbearers will be Adelaide 's grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota, ND, on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and will continue at the church on Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
